The voice is a powerful tool for self-exploration and transformation.
Vocal sound is intimately connected to emotion, and emotion is deeply reflected in the body. Working with voice and sound provides an outlet for stuck emotions, and a space to explore your emotional boundaries safely, and without judgement.
Through this work we also learn how to use our voice more consciously, more intentionally. How to use our voice with skill and confidence – to be in a space of relaxation and let-go while remaining grounded and centered.
“Sound reaches within you and strikes your consciousness. A sword may cut your neck, but with the “sword of sound” your mind can be cut. The blade of sound is sharper and disconnects your mind from its various preoccupations.“ Osho
WHY ATTEND THIS COURSE?
We live in a culture where practically every activity – including singing – has become competitive, we have outsourced this life-giving means of expression to professionals. The resulting lack of vocal expression has consequences for our whole body – especially for the brain body connection.
Freeing up your voice, freeing up your life!
The body is like a hollow bamboo. That’s why it can produce sound from every nook and corner, but we are not allowed to express our feelings freely. Children naturally want to shout, scream, cry, laugh and vent out their pent-up energy. But instead of being encouraged by their elders all that they hear is: “Shut up! Don’t make noise.” “Be quiet, we are talking.” “Don’t sing, you have a terrible voice.” As a result, everybody grows up repressing their sounds; and with the sound the emotions and deeper feelings are also buried in the unconscious.
This course helps you open up and sing out like a bird, use your sounds trapped inside the body and enjoy the freedom it gives you. With sounds, the repressed feelings are also released, and you effortlessly dissolve into silence which is the root of all sounds.
Physical benefits
Singing increases the levels of nitric oxide in the body, and simultaneously tonifies the vagus nerve. As a result, the essential brain-gut connection is tonified, stress is released, inflammation reduced, immunity is enhanced and the autonomic processes of the body function more smoothly. Research has found that people who sing often are less likely to suffer from colds and other minor illnesses.
Psychological and emotional benefits
Making sounds can alleviate anxiety and relieve depression. In addition, studies have linked singing to improved concentration and better memory recall. Benefits also include enhanced emotional resilience – a feeling of being at home in your own skin – more spontaneous self-expression and enhanced creativity.

“Man is a musical instrument. If we allow existence, it can create much music in us. But we don’t allow it; we resist, we fight. Hence our life remains music-less, and that is the misery. Unless great music is born in the heart one cannot feel any significance, any splendor in life. And once the heart starts singing, once it is in the hands of existence and it starts playing on the heart, life is a celebration.” - Osho
