Sometimes life does not feel dramatic or terrible — just flat.
The days are full, the mind is busy, the eyes are constantly occupied, familiar routines, conversations, constant streams of information, yet very little is deeply experienced.
Life loses some of its colour and depth. Days become repetitive, monotonous. We look at things with old eyes, losing the freshness to see. Perception becomes mechanical.
This course is for anyone who feels mentally tired, emotionally flat, numb, or visually overloaded. Who are going through life on autopilot — those who have lost their sense of wonder and aliveness, often without being able to explain why.
“Because of mechanical habits, repeatedly doing the same thing again and again, you lose the capacity to look; you lose the freshness to look. Really, you lose the function of your eyes — remember this. You become basically blind, because eyes are not needed.”
Osho, The Book of Secrets (#21)
Drawing on the meditation methods from the Book of Secrets, this six-week online course explores how the act of seeing affects the way we experience ourselves and the world around us.
Seeing differently
Most of the time, seeing happens automatically. We scan, react, filter information, and absorb far more than we consciously realise. With constant stimulation from screens, laptops, and fast-moving environments, the eyes and nervous system rarely get a chance to rest.
We filter what we see, but rarely choose consciously what we give our attention to.
These meditation methods offer a chance to slow down, rest from constant stimulation, and experience life with fresh attention again.
Some work with the eyes directly — through staring, stillness, or looking at ordinary things with fresh attention. Others reduce external stimulation, allowing the mind and nervous system to settle out of constant activity and visual overload.
As the course unfolds, you begin noticing how much of life is usually filtered out through habit, repetition, and automatic perception — and how reconnecting inwardly can bring more balance, clarity, and aliveness to daily life.
What begins to shift
Over the six weeks, you may begin to notice:
- less mental exhaustion from constant stimulation
- more enjoyment in ordinary moments
- a renewed sense of curiosity and presence
- more awareness of where your attention and energy go
- greater connection with yourself and the world around you
- moments where life feels newer, calmer, and more alive
Course structure
Each session lasts 45 minutes and introduces one experiential method.
Week 1: Ways of seeing outwardly
What happens when the eyes stop constantly moving. Through staring without blinking, attention begins slowing down and moments of stillness and presence can emerge.
Week 2: Ways of seeing inwardly
Reducing sensory input and noticing how constant stimulation affects the mind and nervous system — and how inwardness, stillness, and clarity begin to appear when external noise begins to quieten.
Week 3: Inner seeing
As the eyes become still, attention begins moving inward, creating space away from constant stimulation, mental images, and visual overload.
Week 4: Seeing as if new
Exploring how habitual seeing makes life feel repetitive — and how fresh attention can bring ordinary moments alive again.
Week 5: Rediscovering freshness
How ordinary moments can begin to feel vivid, alive, and deeply experienced again when attention slows down.
Week 6: Seeing beyond habitual perception
How mind narrows experience through habit, labels, and fixed ways of seeing — and what becomes possible when perception opens beyond them.
